Sub Placement

Hi again, all.

I finally talked the CFO (the missus) into allowing a purchase of a second sub...an Hsu STF-1. It's to be mated with a 400W JBL S120Pll. (The remake of the Odd Couple, you think?!)

Anyway, I noted that the online manual suggests that it be placed near a second sub (if one is used, as it is in this case), and to put it on a throw rug if one has hardwood floors. My JBL is on a floating Pergo type floor, sans rug.

Has anyone had experience with sub placement for these situations? Your input is most appreciated.

....uh, and open critiques are encouraged. (Like why didn't you just buy a big Hsu to begin with?!!....Cuz I'm stoopid.) It should be here in a week. I'm jazzed.

Sooo...I'd still like to know....

RUG or NO RUG??

Any consensus here as to whether to use something on hardwood/laminate flooring, just under the sub?
