Do they make a difference? Are they worth the money? From the research I've done opinions seem to be divided. What's your take on those?

The pads decouple the subwoofer from the floor. If the subwoofer is vibrating through the cabinet walls and thus causing vibrations to travel through the floor to the walls and/or other items, then they could be of some use. They also provide protection for the sub and floor. It'll protect the sub from vacuums and will protect the floor from any scratches or scuffs the sub might cause.

If we're talking about audible SQ improvement, then I'd save your money and put it towards a better sub. If we're talking about thing vibrating due to the pressurization of the room, then they won't help either.

IMO, it depends on the situation. If you don't have the subs yet, you don't know if you have vibration issues, and mainly what it helps with is to keep other things from vibrating. With my old 15" Tempest, it helped. With my dual opposed Empire it made no difference. The Ultras come with feet, so wait until you get them before deciding.

My thought is that since you got the budget for those subs, another few bucks toward isolation pads is completely warranted. If it doesn't work out I'll buy 'em off ya. That SB13 Ultra won't crush a pad ... will it?

Well the subdude HT is rated for "most subs up to 300lbs" so it should be fine if he gets that one. I don't recall the subdude 2 having a weight rating on their product page.

I was going to get the SVS SoundPath subwoofer feet, not the actual pad.

Maybe I'll just get those SVS feet and if they don't work I'll just ship them back.
