There are many larger pipe organs with 32' pedal stops that go all the way down to 16HZ (the lowest C pedal). Usually the deepest stop to be used is the 16', which goes to 32Hz (A good piece to hear a pure 32Hz 16' pedal tone is Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor...E. Power Biggs did a great reading of it for Columbia which was reissued on the Sony Classics label...listen to the solo pedal line that opens the piece, it's very deep and poingnant.) Rather rare but sometimes seen are 64' ranks, which would be 8Hz when the low C is played!
Catharine Crozier's reading of Leo Sowerby's "Requiescat In Pace" on Delos has a subtle yet powerful use of the 32' pedal ranks at the end of the piece. Absolutely stunning, profoundly-moving music.
