SUb crossover question and setup!!

Quick question about sub setup. My infinity subs have crossover control option built and so does my pioneer receiver. I currently have the subs crossover maxed out and the pioneer receiver control set to send anything lower then 80Hz to my sub. I set it up this way assuming the setup I set would allow my sub to not not have to fight the receiver for control of the crossover.

Did I do this wrong?

Sounds like you did it correctly to me. I'm assuming that the maximum setting on the subs' crossovers is higher than 80Hz.

Some subs have "LFE" inputs that bypass the crossover so you don't have to worry about where the crossover dial is set. Do you know if your subs have that? If not, let us know which model you have and I'll look into it.

Adam again, you've responded to every post I've ever posted. lol

Yes they have LFE inputs on them. They are Infinity PS210's. Are you saying when using LFE inputs on any sub that it will automatically bypass the subs crossover settings; therefore meaning I have know worries as to where it is set?

:D I'll try to keep the streak alive.

That's the case with the subs that I've seen, but I don't know if that's true for every sub. It should be clear in the owner's manual if the LFE input bypasses the crossover, though.

Hello my friends, I am new to the Sub Thread. My question is, does my sub(s )have to be placed at the maximum Hz setting, in this case 120hz. Here is my set up.

All Klipsch Speakers and the settings I have them at so far.
F)F3s (60hz
S)S3s (80hz
SR)S2s(90hz
Sub12 (100hz
SW12 (100hz
Volume for both Subs set at around 11pm

I have them set up outside of my Fronts near the walls. Should I change any of my settings. Thanks in Advance

Change F to 80 Hz, Sub12 to 80 Hz. and SW12 to 80 Hz. Or change all three to 60 Hz. This is just for starters. You want your subwoofers built in crossover turned off or set higher than your receiver.

Thanks for the reply. So if I set all my speakers at 80 hz. do I take my Subs in the direction of 120 hz does that mean going higher? sorry for my being a novice. Thanks

If you use your reciever to crossover the speakers and subs, just leave the subs crossovers on 120.
