Looking for a sub between $1000-2000 (music only)
I need a sub to go with my Monitor audio silver series 8
audiophile quality bass but bass that will bring down the house if need be

Rythmik F15 or E15HP
F15HP if you room is larger.
Read Jmans review of E15HP (same sub with slight compromise for smaller cabinet).
Very articulate sub, but also offers high output and digs low.

I had the sonos subwoofer but just sold it... So anything better than that.... I think the sonos sub actually did very well and had good deep bass

The F15HP is good for accurately reproducing music as it was recorded.
If your concern is highly syncopated (sometimes fast) bass, the Rythmik sealed servo subs do an excellent job of it.

Recognize that a real sub can excite room resonances/nodes that your Sonos could not. You should read about the process of setting up a sub while you are deciding and awaiting shipment.

I thought about getting this one instead though;
SVS SB13-Ultra (MSRP $1,599)

In Jman's review, that is the one he compared the E15HP to. He sold the SVS SB13-Ultra to keep the E15HP.
He did a good job of describing the differences and gave his reasons. If you want accuracy, get the Rythmik. The SVS is very good, but seems to add a bit to the bass.
The reason I was quick to recommend the Rythmik is because you are getting nice Monitor Audio speakers which I understand to be very accurate.
Read the comparison/review and see what resonates:) with you.

might be ordering the FV15HP today
I have been recommending the F15HP, not the FV15HP. While teh FV15HP is a very good sub in its own right, for tight, you want the F15HP. The FV15HP is a ported (or vented, thus the V) sub which will not be as tight!

I'm thinking of getting a second F15HP
What receiver do you have?
Ideally, you should locate both subs equi-distant from the listening position. That way both signals reach you at the same time.
A couple of receivers can control the timing of two subs to ensure they reach the listening position at the same time. These receivers start at around $800, but really don't add much if your subs are both close to the same distance away.

right now I'm using a yamaha rx a 2040 and monitor audio silver 8 speakers... for music only right now..
eventually i might use this setup as my HT system and upgrade to a 2 channel setup for music only... the dual sub would probably be for HT reasons

The Rythmik was an excellent choice. Definitely post your impressions when you've had a chance to play with it.

I don't have much to compare it to since this was my first time sub (well i owned the Sonos sub for a little bit but sold it right away)... but as of now its sound fantastic, its accurate, tight... although i have always been a fan of deep hard hitting bass.... sometimes i think i should have got the ported or maybe i'll just add a second F15
