Sub $1300, 50"-54"

Anybody's thoughts on the value market? I'm looking at the Pana S2 and G25 and the Sammy C6500... just can't quite come to closure. Is there something better I'm missing?

Best bang for the buck I feel is the panasonic 50" viera 720P plasma on sale for $640 at ABC wharehouse.

See, this is why I ask questions; I hadn't even considered LG due to what I've heard about QC issues, but that seems to be a promising option as well. I'll have to see if I can get a look at that puppy on a showroom floor somewhere. Anyone else have further experience with this model?

You know, about a month and a half ago I wasn't even considering LG, only Sammy and Panasonic, but then I started to hear a lot of good things about the TV. The price was right, the bezel was attractive (I find Panasonic's to be quite ugly), and the picture quality was great (I noticed much less dithering that with the Panasonic). Only thing that was setting it back a little was the black levels, and with the rising blacks issues in the Panasonics, I figured it was a safe bet. That said, you can't really go wrong with the S2 either, but I just found the LG to be a little better fit for me.

I would go with the G25....I have a V series and G series tv. Both are amazing. You can find some really sick deals on 09 Panasonics.

I like the G25; my question is are the features worth the price step up from the S2? I'm not sure, but it seems like they use the same panel and I suspect the same board chips, the G25 just offers THX mode, Vieracast (which I won't be using), and another screen format option or two, apparently.
