Stupid Pioneer VSX-74TXVi question

I am looking at the VSX-74TXVi as a replacement for my Sony DA4ES. One of the small things I love about the Sony is that when you are playing multichannel audio, there is a big, bright blue spotlight that tells you it is multichannel. Is there anything like that on the VSX-74TXVi?

No. My old Sony STR DE 925 had that same blue light. It was cool at first, but became annoying. I'm much happier with my Denon 3805 and it's low lighting effects at night. I don't know of any other AVR's that offer that blue light. You simply know it's true surround when DD or DTS pops up on the LCD screen with a given media source. Of course, 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1 dsp stereo is also multi-channel. I think you meant digital surround, right?

Yes. I was just going by the label on the blue led. It just had that WOW factor.

No big blue light for that (though there is one whenever you use the i-link), but there is of course a small illuminated graphic of the channels in use, whenever you listen. So if it's multichannel, you see more than two. This sort of thing is common in many brands.
