Stereo Input vs 2-way speakers...

Hey there:
Is it better to go with stereo input speakers or 2 way speakers?
I am putting them in my basement which has one room that is about 400 sq ft and another room that is about 200 sq ft.
Would placement be different in each room? Both are rectangular rooms (26' x 15') and (18' x 12)

Any advice would be a great help!!!

You might want to clarify your question.

If you're comparing a speaker system that has two inputs for two audio channels versus a two way speaker, which separates the audio spectrum into two different speakers one optimized for highs and the other for lows, you're comparing apples to oranges.

In any case, wiring will be easier for the former as both channels go to the same location whereby the other would have each channel going to two different locations in the each room.
