If you're so limited in size, then I think you should give the Definitive Technology Mythos Gems a listen. They are effectively on-wall/bookshelf, full range speakers. 4-1/8" W x 4-1/4" D x 10-1/4" H, rated at 10-200w, 89db. They have two 3-1/2" long throw bass/midrange drivers with butyl rubber surrounds and one ferrofluid-dampened pure aluminum dome tweeter.

I'm currently using these as surrounds in my media room, but I've been thinking of getting another pair for my family room (zone 3).

Mirage Omnisats

I really like my Mirage omnisat v2 speakers especially for jazz and Classical.
They have a very large soundstage a have a real presence to them. You will need a sub with them however. a pair of the omnisat v2 are approx 500 dollars. Here is a link to crutchfield that sells them: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-dmQisAMx4JQ/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=37900&I=653OMST2S

They also sell a smaller version of this system called nanoset and the system with subwoofer is 799$ here is link
