Static noise from speakers/receiver

Need help. I have a home surround sound system set up in my house. I have a Kenwood VR-3080 receiver, B & W speakers, Pioneer sub, and JVC DVD player. When I play a DVD, I get a static noise/buzzing sound that comes through the speakers while the audio from the dvd is playing (but does NOT happen when I play an audio cd through the dvd player). This static noise gets louder and louder as you turn up the volume. I have checked all connections to the receiver and speakers; I've even replaced the speaker wire and the optical cable, as well as cleaned the connections, but that didn't solve the problem. Sometimes if I jiggle the speaker connections to the receiver, the static noise will soften, but then will eventually become loud again.

Has anyone had a similar problem before and know what I can do to remedy the situation? It's really annoying during quieter parts of movies.......thanks!

Try it without the optical. Use analog RCA's just to see if that may be it.
