Starting of thinking of replacing my Martin Logan LX-16's

After the speaker upgrades on my 7.1 system, the bookshelf speakers I have in my office are sounding for want of a better term "thin". As mentioned in the title, those are the speakers I am thinking of replacing. My budget with some wiggle (don't go crazy) is $2000 USD. Given this, if a cheaper is better than more expensive, I want to know this. The $500 thread for the bookshelf speakers here at Audioholics may be a start, but I think are limited a bit. Given the above, what I want is an easy listening speaker with a great neutral soundstage. These will be paired with my SB-3000 subwoofer. I will also suggest passive (no amplifier).

Is this a dealer where you can go listen, then do an in-home audition?

For that kind of budget I would want to know for sure how a speaker sounds in my space. The KEF R3, Revel M106, and Paradigm Persona B all deserve a listen.

I called my local dealer this morning. He carries kef, revel, paradigm, and jbl. He doesn’t have the new paradigm founders 40s but does have a pair of the 70s. I am going to audition tomorrow afternoon.

The Paradigm Personas are way above that price point, as well as the Revel M126Be. For under $2k you would be looking at the Paradigm Prestige series. Kef R3 would be top of your budget but you could check out the less expensive LS50 as well. Revel M16 would fit your budget too. Depends upon what your dealer has in stock but if you're spending up to $2k I would definitely want to audition them in person.

The Paradigm Founders replaced the Prestige line and is very new. Not looking at the Persona. Have discussed the Kef LS50 meta, Paradigm Founders 40, Kef R3, Revel M16, and he has in stock for comparison some of the Kef q series as well. I did ask for him to also throw in the best they have as I like to have at least one high end reference. We have discussed what the dealer has in stock, and will audition them tomorrow.

My dealer is the same one I bought my Premier 800F, Prestige 45C, Prestige 25S, and the MRX-740 now on my main rig in my livingroom. I am looking to replace in my office the Martin Logan LX-16's and will cart those in tomorrow to compare with their stock they have.

I have had to postpone the audition as I am getting help with a couple of things I still can’t do as a result of a broken leg and knee sprain. I rescheduled for next week. I wish that some of the big guns here speak. The $2k limit has wiggle room. If clearly superior I will bend on the cost.

At $2k, I would be looking at Paradigm Premier 800Fs or Revel Concerto2s. However, the Arendal 1723 Monitors look mighty intriguing.

I already own the 800f floor speakers. Lol what I want is a set of bookshelf speakers for my office. Do not have room for the 800f in that room!

I like both the selah speakers and the adrenal 1723s bookshelf. I wonder how the new paradigm founder 40 bookshelf will compare?
