Starter system advice

Hello all,
A friend is looking for advice on a good AVR to start with that he will be matching with the SVS Prime surround system and a PB-2000 pro sub. He is looking at the Denon AVR-S960H and is wondering of there is any reason to spend almost double on the AVR-X3600H. I know there are some differences like the Audyssey software versions but not sure how much of a difference in other features that would make up for the price difference. He spends about equal time watching movies, playing on the PS4 and looking to the PS5 and streaming music currently through his PC and Serious radio as an over the road trucker.

Any thoughts.

As a note the devices he has will be a standard Samsung 4k TV with ARC not eARC. The LG UBK90 4k Blue Ray player. PS4 and will eventually be getting the PS5. Streams with Pandora and Serious Radio app.

I'd say XT32 and preouts are a definite consideration in favor of the 3600, plus other differences....haven't been looking at prices lately but I'd think with some shopping the 3600 wouldn't be double....

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at many of the other features and completely forgot to look for Pre-outs. I told him about the room correction when he first asked for my advise and I told him I would check here because it seemed odd to me that there would be such a price difference with so little different between the 2. I knew I was missing something.
