HI thanks for the Music Streaming Services Compared you tube discussion you guys did recently..
I have been using Spotify since i purchase my system last year (Yamaha RX -V6A receiver & mission Q3 floor standers) in June.
After watching the discussion & seeing that Tidal has better audio quality.., i downloaded Tidal & started to stream it through Yamaha MusicCast as i do with spotify.
These streaming services are integrated into MusicCast .
Wow the loss les quality is amazing on Tidal, like chalk & cheese i would say. More body & detail in the sound. I have also found that the volume is more consistent between tracks on Tidal than on Spotify. The image and accuracy i get now is absolutely fantastic!! The volume level for my enjoyment has improved from -20 to -23db & it gives a full rich sound not experienced before. Lower volume levels also yield more detail. I have only started using Tidal recently, but love the quality. The Tidal app overall seems to work quite well, it is a bit different to Spotify, but i am getting use to it. Shall have to see how they choose tracks for me based on what i listen to, but it looks good so far..
Tidal is one of the higher resolution services & is definitely the way to go if you are more Audio file orientated. The monthly cost of Tidal is exactly the same as Spotify so no problem there either..
I also did not feel like paying for a streaming service, but cd's & vinal are ridiculously expensive.. Streaming music services are very much worth the money, in fact if you start listening to an ocean of music at CD quality or better for almost nothing!! There is just no doubt in my mind , all music eventually shall be enjoyed this way..
