It was fulfulling just to see topher grace get blown to atoms here.
That alone was worth the price of admission. There's something about that guy that just rankles me. He was OK in that 70's show, but everything he's been in since then he just seems a little to pleased with himself.
Now, for some random thoughts.
Great action scenes. The giant sandman and Venom scenes were fantastic. Gotta love JJ Jamison and his blood pressure problems and Ted Raimi is always good for a laugh. Likewise, Stan Lee just has to make a cameo.
That American flag scene was a hoot.
Peter's gotta be the dumbest person alive to kiss that blond in publiic, and in front of MJ, and not think she would be upset.
The dancing scene in the bar was a bit much but I guess that's what a little symboite can do.
It was nice to see the goblin Jr (name escapes me) finally take his revenge and eventually realize the truth about his dad's death. Too bad it was a little too late. He would have made a good ally in the future.
The boo-hoo sandman story was a cop-out.
...and, from seeing this on an IMAX screen (68th & Broadway, NYC) , we realized that MJ has hairy arms and man-hands.
but, for a summer action flick, I'll give it an 8 out of a 10 and definitly would see a fourth if it manifests itself. I think Sam Raimi does a good job with this franchise.
