I'm looking to hook my PC up to my LCD television; though they are around 25 or so feet apart; does anyone know if i was to run a 25-50 foot 3.5mm cable to a Y cable and convert it into a set of RCA stereo jacks how much signal quality i would lose?

i probably wont be buying anything more quality than the average to budget cables; i'm curious if i would have to spring for the high-end, or if i can live with a cheaper setup

thanks for any input; i'm relatively knew to the A/V game

You lose a tiny bit of signal strength due to the split but the brand of cables isn't going to matter one bit. The line out of a sound card is going to be variable and controlled by the mixer that came with the card (or the Windows mixer) so you may have to bump up the volume there a bit.
