Probably not many people who can answer this if any. Right now I have a Denon 1803 reciever and dvd-800 cd/dvd player with 5.1 B&W 601s3.

I have just orderd B&W FPM 6s for the front and FMP2s for the suround. B&W says that technically the FMP is a slightly better speak then the 600 series, but looking at the specs (which may be a mistake) it does not appear that way.

Here is my question.

I want to be sure I get at least the sound quality I have with my Denon 1803 and B&W 600s. If I bought a Rotel reciever to go with my new B&W FPMs would I be sure to get better sound quality? The reason I chose Rotel is becuase it appears that from my readings Rotel and B&W products are a perfect match.

Hard question to answer I know and maybe it cant be answered, but i dont have the opportunity to listen, so I am buying kinda blind.

I have read the same thing. The same parent company owns both the Rotel and B&W brand. It is said that both brands have a certain synergy when paired together.

I have owned a Rotel amp. It was not my cup of tea. The bass end is bloated to say the least, to make a solid state amp sound like a tube amp. I sold the amp in less than a week. Good riddance.

I have not owned B&W speakers.

Vancouver, it's speaker choice and room acoustics that control what you hear in your listening room. So you are rolling the dice by ordering speakers without hearing them. That being said, perhaps once you get the speakers you could perhaps get a local B&M to let you demo receivers at home. But I suggest that if you do not like the sound of your new speakers, the receiver is the last thing to consider when trying to figure out the problem with the sound. IMHO.

I have the rotel rsx1056 w/b&w 603s3's and love the combo they sound great IMHO.Personally i think that if you were'nt happy with your denon/B&W i would of tried the rotel with your present speakers b4 i bought other speakers unheard. You may find that your 601's may sound alot better with the rotel. But i'm biased.Just so you know i had a marantz sr7000(great receiver)with def.tech. speakers b4 i upgraded.I knew what speakers i was getting and went and got the rotel. While i was waiting for my new speakers i used the rotel with the def.tech's and to my amazement they not only sounded different but better just not better than the B&W.

If you get a chance listen to the rotel 1056 plus Paradigm s4 combo. You will be blown away. The goosebumps are still on my arms.
