speakers suggestions for under 250 $

I'd be grateful for a suggestion as to what speakers to buy for under 250 dollars for the DUAL PA 5030 amplifier (specs here : https://hifi-wiki.com/index.php/Dual_PA_5030)
The speakers would be paired up with some vintage japanese record player.

Yeah, used speakers would be an option but I'd prefer new ones though. I have a rather spacious living room of about 25 square meters/82 square feet

The problem is that we are in North America and are not familiar as to what really affordable speakers are available in your country which you did not name.

Thats a pretty tight budget, thus the suggestions for diy kits or used. Poke around for used options, and if you find any run them by us for feedback.

Other options within such a modest budget that may not even be on your radar are active monitors, which you would find at musician merchants such as Music Store. They'll generally punch above the weight of entry level consumer speakers. Music Store frequently has used kit, e.g. they recently sold a pair of JBL lsr305 for $100.

You will do better with used than with new at that price. One way, since you don't know speakers, is to look at those on the used market that interest you, then look up past reviews online and their specs from places like Crutchfield etc. You will often find where someone else has come across the same type/brand speakers and asked about it on other forums. There will often be people replying that know about them and reply accordingly. Google search them, etc. I only really choose speakers with rubber surrounds. Although I have done it enough times, I don't want to bother trying to source the proper foam or rebuilding speaker drivers anymore.

I have more confidence in names here like JBL, Infinity, and some others that are good performers, but not yet under the vintage collectors or traders (flippers) thumb. I recently got a pair of JBL S38ii (from around y2k) off of Facebook market for $75 US and they will handily trounce just about anything new that's $200 and under. A second pair of the same I got from a forum member which is what made me get the 2nd pair because I liked them so much. Their outdated, as am I, but very well built and I could live with those from here on out. Just make sure the center dust caps aren't smashed in. While it doesn't really alter the performance of the speaker, it will give indication to how they were cared for and the environment they were kept in.

Got these for $75 off of FB market as well and while not the most pleasing things to look at, they sound quite nice and are fine with the grilles on. These have a sensitivity rating of 92 db and can handle up to 250 watts per channel and can wake the neighbors next door. I got these when I first joined this forum to get me by when my old system and speakers finally died on me. Had an AVR given to me for free and I bought another AVR also for $75 and was up and running with relatively high performance sound for $150 total.
