Speakers Suggestion

Hi there,

After big confusion I have chosen Yamaha RXV 659 Black - $300 as receiver!
Now difficult part choosing the speakers my budget can go upto $1300.
I would like to setup 5.1 if possible 7.1!!! 95% usage will be watching movies and its going to be at my basement approx 20x20 open space.

What do you guys think about these speakers? will this be any good with my receiver or suggest me?

If that comes out slightly to much. You can switch out the main floorstanders with the bookshelf's I recommended as surrounds. Or choose a different subwoofer.

The AV123 speakers and SVS sub that Mazer recommended get good reviews around here. I suggest that you go listen to speakers if at all possible. You can do that at places like Best Buy, as specialty audio/video shops, and at your friends house. There are also internet direct companies (like AV123 and SVS) that will let you return items within a period of time...just check how much it will cost you in shipping.

Speaker preferences are very personal - what one person likes, someone else might hate. Some people love Paradigm speakers, while I have yet to find a pair that I like (that's just an example). That's why I recommend that you go listen to them.
