Speakers for Office

I recently changed jobs and left my in wall speakers behind in my old office. I'm looking for recommendations for an inexpensive pair of small speakers to use in my new one. They will be powered by a Denon Micro System (small all-in-one receiver and cd player).

Any suggestions? I'd like to spend as little as possible.

The P-4s are pretty nice if they fit your budget.

Personally, I'd go with the NHT Absolute Zero or PSB Image B4 over the Audioengine P4... but that's just my preference.

You could get the NHT Super Zero 2.0 for $160/pr... but you'd definitely need a sub with them.

Honestly though, you're going to be missing bass if you don't use a sub with the PSB Image B4 or Audioengine P4 as well.

The low end is missing with smaller speakers. If you want to spend as little as possible and get great sound, why not buy headphones? The Sennheiser HD595 are currently running around $150 and they sound better than my P-4 speakers . . . .

I'd like to stay under $200 - preferably below $150. (I know that is asking a lot)

I'd like a small footprint as well.

Sub is not an option - neither is headphones (already have a decent set - Grado).

Any idea where you can listen to them without buying them online? I live in Wisconsin.

I have the same problem with speakers; I live in Iowa. You can always try them and ship them back if you don't like them. Some speaker companies will pay the freight back. The other reviews I've seen of this line of speakers have been positive (although I take internet reviews with a grain of salt). Here is a review of the Dayton speakers, http://news.cnet.com/8301-13645_3-20005175-47.html. They could be a heck of a steal at that price . . . . At that price, I'm thinking of getting a pair for my workroom.
