Hey all..

I am completely replacing my existing HT in a Box system with a new system, and am currently shopping for speakers.

I've stumbled upon the JBL Balboa series (an okay deal), and the specs (from what I've read) seem to be OK.

The setup would be:
- 2 x JBL Balboa 30 - front
europe.jbl.com/home/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=BALBOA30/230&Language=ENG&Country=GB&Region=EUROPE&cat=BAL&ser=BAL
- 2 x JBL Balboa 10 - rear europe.jbl.com/home/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=BALBOA10/230&Language=ENG&Country=GB&Region=EUROPE&cat=CLA&ser=BAL
- 1 x JBL Balboa Center - center europe.jbl.com/home/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=BALBOACENTER/230&Language=ENG&Country=GB&Region=EUROPE&cat=CLA&ser=BAL
- 1 x JBL Balboa Sub 10 - subwoofer europe.jbl.com/home/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=BALBOASUB/230&Language=ENG&Country=GB&Region=EUROPE&cat=CLA&ser=BAL
(can't post as links, sry)

They will be running together with a Pioneer VSX-92TXH receiver.

Is this a good match/setup? I couldn't find too many reviews on the speakers from this series. Does anyone have experience with them, or could suggest whether they would be fine in the setup or not :)? Is there anything similar (withing the range of $1k) that I could look at. They will be in a living room that's not huge, but not small either.

Any input is appreciated.

Cheers,
i.b.

That will sound significantly better than the HTIAB system. I would suggest looking elsewhere for a subwoofer, but in any case that subwoofer is better than the HTIAB sub.:D

IMO that receiver outshines those speakers. Overkill in my eyes.

If you can afford better the JBL ES, Venue or Studio L series would be much better. The Studio L series can be found at fairly good prices on the net. The Venue series is being discontinued and can be found at very cheap prices. The ES series is replacing the Venue.
