Speakers for basement

Hi all -

I have been given the task by my father to "hook him up". I have already decided on a PB10-NSD and a 1016 Pioneer Receiver.

It's a toss up for speakers. I am looking at either SVS's 5.1 set or putting together an Athena system for him with floorstanding in the front.

I am also open for suggestions. I am trying to stay as close to $1000 as possible for sub and speakers.

The room is segmented into 2 sections and the theater will be half the room. If I had to guess I would say the whole area is 20 x 20.

Lotsa room to wiggle with this system and still come out with a powerful sub.

If I was going ID, one of the Ascend systems with the Hsu subs is probably what I would pick. Having not heard them, this would be a "reputation" purchase knowing I could send it back.
