Home Depot has RCA 14ga. speaker cable for $34.00 per 100' spool, This is great stuff (big and thick like Monster) at a great price. I don't know about elsewhere, but here locally just try to buy Monster for .34 cents per foot it usually runs about .70 cents per foot for XP.

I have actually found the monster THX crap to be cheaper then the regular M stuff.

It was a good price, atleast better then all the other monster stuff, so I bought it.

Now, I'm trying ot find someone to buy it so I can get Blue jeans or Canare stuff.

Home Depot carries 12 gauge Carol and works fine IME. Sound King is another pretty popular brand for 12 gauge speaker wire.

I try to not buy stuff from Wal Mart because I don't want to support their unethical business practices.

The beef with Walmart has traditionally been because they would move into small towns, sell products artificially low, then jack prices back up again once the mom & pop's were all out of business.

Also, remember their made in America campaign of years past? Not anymore - they are all about funneling cheap Chinese products into the American market.

Manufacturers hate them because since they are so powerful, they drive down margins across the board.

Union members hate them because they employ very aggressive (and borderline illegal) union busting practices. Remember the supermarket strikes in California? That's because supermarkets can't pay their employees $16 an hour anymore because of WalMart competition.

Another beef with WalMart is that a large percentage of their employees are on social programs. The way their employment is structured, they actually feed off of the taxpayer to support their employees.

The list goes on and on. Personally I just choose to vote with my pocketbook and not shop there. It's the lower income people who shop there that are screwing themselves...

Not to be facetious, but isn't that the goal of every red blooded capitalistic American business model who wants to succeed? How many US companies buy from China and sell locally? Walmart is trying to find an angle to compete with Ebay, Amazon.com, Buy.com, and all the internet companies who are taking $$$ away from them. At least Wallyworld is paying local taxes.

The days of the ma and pa stores are gone. It's only a matter of time before this economy becomes totally service/internet oriented, and moves all manufacturing to other countries. Just wait until retirement/health care benefits catch up to Honda/Toyota of America.

Well said AudioSeer, particularly this part. I don't care what your political affiliation is, that's gotta piss you off.
