Speaker wire gauge paranoia

Ok so I know this is a stupid post but for some reason it is bugging the hell out of me. I just ordered some 12 gauge speaker cable from bluejeans but now I am paranoid that I got the right gauge. Now I know about the general guidelines and i have read all of the tech articles, including the audioholics one, but for some reason I keep thinking I went to small. my longest run is about 40' to 45' to one of my RBH 661/SE-R mains, which I believe is 6 ohms. Should I have went with the 10 gauge? I was trying to decide between the two and landed up going with the 12 simply because I figured it would be easier to work with.

This site here is my favorite for this stuff. Personally, I think that you'll be just fine with that speaker wire.

you said you are worried that you went to small.... i think you are going to be pleasantly surprised how big 12ga is... i just installed 14ga home depo special (solid copper) and was wowed...

U serious about he Guinees I love the stuff. I had a friend get me into it i refused at first but now i am a lover and a promoter I have forced many people to drink a Guiness with me and now they are hooked just like me!

yep.. its a very good full flavored beer... its kind of hard to drink ofter mowing the lawn or something... but its good for sitting on the patio in the evening...

i usually go for a dos equis lager with a slice of lime for my light choice...

btw... have you tried guinness extra stout? its really good too....

but there isnt a better beer in the word (that i have had) then a guinness from the tap...

Why would you want to use that romex for speaker wire? Yes it's beefy but hard as hell to work with. 12-14 g strand wire is more pliable and easier to hide. Were you putting that in the wall?

Way back in college, my frat buddies and I would go to this one bar near campus that claimed it had all the beers of the world (doubtful but they had a buttload of beers (over a thousand different brands) anyway we went thrice weekly and would taste test beers and rate them. Our objective was to test as many as possible before graduation. Me and my pals went through alot of beers and ranked them from worst to best on a 10 point scale based on majority rule. Best tasting beer overall. A Canadian Beer called "Nordik Wolf Light" just a fantastic tasting beer (wish I could import the stuff). Worst overall beer by every member of the frat. Guinness. I imagine if they fermented motor oil and added crap, that it would pretty much taste similar to Guinness.

I like it on tap, but I hate the aftertaste in a can. I have, much to my surprise, found a stout I like better than Guinness:

When I first tried it, I was a little put off by the sweetness, but now I like it better in a bottle than Guinness on tap.
