Are speaker volumes controlled by dB settings?

My left front is louder than the left front. I don't use the center for music.

You really haven't provided enough info (and I'm pretty sure you made a mistake in your wording too).

Did you run some room correction? You need to be more specific in your question. What dB setting are we talking about hear???

Maybe I should ask a different way.

How do you raise or lower individual speaker volume?

If your avr has a level adjustment for each the left and right speaker, that could be adjusted, it is often scaled in dB.

Get a spl meter, all audioholics should have one, and check the levels set by your unit

Did it with same results. Sounds ok on surround but not on 2 or 7 Chanel stereo sound.

Perhaps you should answer a different way. What AVR do you have and what speakers are you using?

Do you sit the same distance from each speaker?

What sounds ok on surround but not on 2 or 7 channel stereo modes? Curious why would you use 7ch stereo mode except for maybe a party? More info about your specific gear and setup might help....

I have one and I used it. I'll try again.
Did they read the same spl, or different? If different how much? I have noted hearing loss in my right ear which can be annoying, I've made preset adjustments for when I'm the only one listening. Along with the information asked for others can you post the settings for the L R speakers?

Here goes;
AVR Yamaha RX-A1050
Revel M22s
Aperion Grand Verus ll (rears)
All speakers @ 72bB
All @ 80 and small
SVS sub PB 200O
7 channel because I like to hear music with all speakers playing
I sit the same distance from both front speakers

What do you mean all speakers at 72dB? This is a result of running YPAO or manual setup?

You do have a sub, just omitted it? Curious more than anything on this point. Also what surrounds are since you mention rear surrounds....

How about where the speakers are placed up front in relation to the room?

Are you using a 7ch music source like a bluray or just matrixing 2ch into 7?

Yes on the sub see above

Manual setup

Using streaming music SOURCES (4 different services)

If you manually set it up and both L/R are at 72dB then not sure why you would have uneven levels later unless the source isn't playing at even levels. What are the speaker levels set at in the avr for all the speakers?

I did use test tones. Music is just what I listen to.

Here's a thought: physically switch the front right and left speakers. Let us know if the problem switches channels or stays on the same channel.
