Hi - Several weeks ago the console/receiver for my 5.1 ch
panasonic sc-ht740 home entertainment system broke and couldn't be
fixed. The 5 speakers and subwoofer all work fine, but the system no
longer has a central console. I bought the system 2.5 years ago and spkrs
are still in great condition - are they worth trying to sell, or is the residual value too low? What do you think is the value of a speaker system like that without the receiver?

Thanks!

Honestly I wouldn't expect much for those - they are a basic Home Theater in a Box setup, with tiny molded plastic speakers. A new complete system for what you have is going for as low as $250 these days (I looked it up real quick for reference), that includes the receiver unit.

Maybe, maybe a hundred bucks if you can find some schlepp on Craigslist willing to fork over the cash for 'em.
