Need some info on a full home speaker system. I am building a home and I want to have a setup where I have a single audio source that can be played in 8 different rooms, but I want the volume control in each room. I have looked at the Emotiva UAC 8.2, 1 pair in each room, and the Russound stereo volume controls. I don't want surround sound, so a stereo receiver will be sufficient. My question is, will a normal receiver be able to do this? Are the Ohms going to be below the range of the receiver, or do the volume controls have manual switches to compensate for this, and if so, what would the need to be set at? I am not set on any particular speakers or Volume controls, but I do like the Emo products, plus the price seems very decent with their sale right now.

I don't know about wrangling an AVR to do this for you. There are products out there specifically designed for your application.

I would start your searching over here.
