Im trying to set the cross over on my speakers for example my fronts are
36Hz-20kHz but my 7300 is factory set at 100 HZ but each speaker can be changed so my question is how do you take the two numbers an change it to one number in the speaker set up menu or should I even bother changing it?

I don't understand what you are asking... Are you trying to set the crossover point for your speakers?

yes I'm trying to set the cross over, isn't that what you need from the speakers? Isn't that the same thing as your frequency response? On my fronts they're 36 Hz-20kHz.

The crossover Freq for the receiver bass management is between the Subwoofer and Speaker.

The speakers have the crossover for the woofer and tweeter built in. You can't adjust those, nor would you want to in your case.

For your speakers, you can use a 60hz crossover for your subwoofer because they can play decently low, but the norm. is 80Hz.

Experiment with this and see what sounds best, but I would suggest not going above 80Hz.

thanks

I think iam getting a little closer to understanding this(restoring cars seems to be a lot easier than this lol) so in the speaker setup menu where it says 100hz for the left an right I should try setting it to 60hz. if this is right how do you figure out the rest of the speakers because if my fronts are36Hz-20kHz my rears are diff.there at 40Hz-20kHz an ceter is 60Hz-22KHz and the rear backs I have know ideawhat they are. I hope Iam making sense because im just a slow one finger typer lol.
thanks

Set it to 80Hz. Your subwoofer can handle it from there.

finally figured it out

I finally got a call from HK. they told me how to set the speaker cross overs on my 7300 they said if your low x-over for a speaker is say 40 Hz add 20 to it so it would be set at 60 Hz in the x-over menu why they could not say that in the manual? also my other question was using the external set up mic to calibrate. he told me the 7300 does not have one there must of been a mix up an it was added by mistake no wonder it was no where to be found in the manual

Since your center channel can respond to frequencies down to 60Hz effectively, you should set your crossover for every channel to 80Hz. If you only have one crossover setting in your reciever options then it will set all channels. If you can set it for each channel separately then you will want to set each of them to 80Hz.

HK receivers have individual crossover settings for the fronts, center, surrounds, and rears. cool!

I don't see that in the manual? Normally, 120 Hz would be preferred since the LFE signal contains frequencies below this level.
