Im asking this question for a friend...

He wants to rebuild some speakers of his I guess. I showed him the recone kits, he says thats to much work? Anyways, he just wants to replace the (lack of proper term here) piece that attaches/flexes the outer edge of the cone the housing

You guys know what part i mean?

If so, can you rebuild just that?

Rebuilding in general, anyone ever do one of those recone kits? Thought opinions?

That's called the 'surround' and it is replaceable on many speakers. I don't know where you/he are but many cities have at least one place that recones/repairs speakers. Alignment is important when doing this.
