Good afternoon,

I wanted to post this to see if anyone might have a link or perhaps some good info on speaker reconing/rewinding. I have a few old speakers that have blown coils and I would like to think that with a little direction I could make the repairs on my own. I've looked around a little but being on a dial-up connection I have had no success so far other than info on installing surrounds.

Thanks

John

Hey Skeoch,,,,you may want to try GR Research.com for speaker rebuilds and kits, such as new boards, wiring and new iinsulation/dampening materials.

I've used the speakerrepair.com (which JGarcia mentions) folks twice on different projects. They are really Orange County Speaker. I had great luck with them. On one repair I ordered a new set of foam surrounds... and installed them. Still looks and works great to this day. On another rebuild I sent the drivers to them - as they were going to have to do some custom work on this set. Also excellent results...

Have fun.
