I have a Sony AV receiver that was part of a surround sound package with all speakers included. Had this set up for about 3 years now and just now have purchased the Avia test disk and checked the speakers. Everything seemed to work fine but just wanted to check to be sure.
When I do the speaker check the (LF) (C) (RF) all seem to get sound when they should but when it goes to the SR & SL it seems like both speakers come on together? The in & Out of phase checks seem to not work correctly and I'm sure all speakers are wired in phase.
I thought there was a problem with the disk so I tried the THX optimizer on a DVD that I have and the speaker checks are the same, the 2 surround speakers seem to work together.
Odd thing is when I check the speakers using the built in test tones on the AV receiver the speakers all check out correct? I'm really baffled. Am I missing something or is there a compatibility issue testing this Sony receiver?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
