Ive always used vegetable oils on my cutting boards. Have you ever tried it. Post up a link for what you are using i may give it a look.

The one thing about vegetable oil is it tends to oxidize (go rancid) more so than mineral oil. Not that there's anything wrong with it really, and it's not going to get into food, but it's one detail mineral oil wins out in. At most, you might smell something different if you had one treatment to compare to the other.

i was brave, i used a $3.99 wood cleaner/treating oil and its just added a nice shine and made them look 3 times better :D

nice and easy bought straight from the supermarket down the street :rolleyes: i am glad it turned out sweet

I used a polish specifically for wood from a company called "Napolean" :cool:
