THIS drawing shows how I prefer to setup the listening position and speakers in a room. Start with the listening position 38 percent of the way back from either the front or rear wall, then place the speakers in an equal triangle.
If you have a way to measure the low frequency response accurately, you can slide the speakers along the axes while measuring, to find where the peaks and nulls are the least damaging.
