I dont get the best placement for my surrounds right now so im considering a pair of speaker mounts for them to raise them up and angle them down to cover the room better.
Im doing this in a dorm room, so they're gonna be attached to a 2 1/2" tall 1/2" thick piece of wood that runs along the top of the wall, so the screws cant go deep and the mounts can be that big. The speakers have the usual mounting hole in the back that'd work with a big nail in the wood, but that wont let the speakers angle really easily and I dont want them sitting up there on 1 nail. They only weigh in at 2.6lbs according to the specs, not that big either (YHT 360 surrounds).
I'd prefer to go out and buy them in person instead of ordering, so what should I look for/avoid? Im looking into $40 or so for the pair as they're light speakers.
