Query: Using good quality satellite cable(Copper centre (for signal); copper braiding/screening for return cable ) -- would this be suitable to cable all my speakers.? I'm dizzy in the head reading all the technical details about speaker cables and am lookin' for an easy "out"! I'm not going for gold but would be happy with silver - even bronze. (At nearly 70yrs old I'll hardly hear the difference anyway!) Right now using - I'm ashamed to say it - twisted ceiling lamp flex for a 5:1 systerm - 5 Jamo's. How low can you go!. Regards, Michael r (ps Planning on using CT100 sat. cable) My amp is a Yamaha DSP-A780 - purchased 25/8/95 - 11yrs and 2days old!

coaxial isn't really the best thing for speakers.

That center is thinner than you would think and being coaxial offers absoutely no benefit for speaker cable.

Generally, plain old 12 gauge speaker wire is the preferred means of transfer.

But, if it works for you, have a blast.

I post this link in every speaker wire question as it answers every question about wire gauge, wire type & sonic differences between different types of wire, all the info you will need to make a choice is contained within this page below.

As long as your using the proper gauge wire you will hear no difference in wires.

Why even bother to go to all the trouble of changing that wire. It works as good as your planned coax and at your age, you will not benefit from 12ga/14ga wire either.
