Hello

I bought spade plugs for Marantz SR7005 before I realize the spade plugs won't fit because the plastic colar works as a shell that prevents me from inserting them into my AVR. Is there any method to safely remove the plastic colar or other method to insert the spade plug because I am sure the marantz is competiable with spade plug

I am new with all this, And I hope to get your support through sharing your experience with me

Thanks in advance

Hi. Have you unscrewed the outer plastic shell? If not, try that - as it might then allow you to fit the spades underneath near the bottom of the binding post. It's hard to tell from a photo, but those look like five-way binding posts, so you should be able to unscrew them far enough to fit the spades in.

How can I unscrew the outer shell? it looks like a part of the AVR and hard to remove; I haven't thought about that, but is there specific tool for removing the shell so I can easily insert the spade plug?

Perhaps that Marantz doesn't accept spade plugs. Unscrewing the outer shell is shown on page 5 of the owner's manual.

From the photo, it looks like they will take bare wire and banana plugs. If they are five-way binding posts, they would take spade connectors by unscrewing the outer shell a bit, then you could slide the spade in and tighten the outer shell back down. The image below shows the concept (I would have posted that image before but I hadn't found it, yet).

^^That is great illustration^^,
Marantz issue is the 5 way binding post is surrounded by outer shell. All I need now is to unscrew the shell little and insert the spade plug below it before getting it back to it's main position; please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you Adam; I shall get back to you later.

The spade plug was larger than it can fit at marantz SR7005. I shall check spade size next time.

Thanks again for your help
