Sound level dB meter

Well it looks pretty but they provide no information about it whatsoever.
- Can you change the meter response time between fast and slow?
- Can you change the measurement scale from A weighting to C weighting?
- Within what range of frequencies an SPL readings is it accurate?

We don't know. 'Point and shoot to get a quick reading' tells you nothing about its capabilities but I would bet it simply uses the A weighting scale with a fast response time and would only be good for measuring total sound output - not for calibrating levels in a receiver. Unless you can get more substantive info on its capabilities, I would avoid it.

That one has the features you would need like A & C weighting and fast & slow response times so it would be a better choice than the first one.

Hello Davlaf. :)

I and many others use this popular and inexpensive SPL meter and would recommend it without question. It's also available in a digital format (link is for the analogue version which I have). Both are equally good.

The link above may not be the cheapest source of the product so if you're interested, I'd advise shopping around a bit. Hope this helps.
