OK, I have a SB AUdigy PCI card in my PC and am trying to run it into a 7.1 Onkyo TX-SR503 and am comming acoss a dilema. I need a cable that is sdif RCA on one end and 1/4 in stereo-like jack on the other. I say stereo -like BC it has 3 rings around it rather then 2. HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN THIS CABLE? soundblaster mentions its existance in the SB manual but thats it. Its not on their site and my attempts to create a sloppy one have failed. If anyone has questions let me know and ill post pics of the interface's im refering to.

Thanks to MDS

I think that may be just what im looking for. So the whole black ring thing around the tip of the 1/8 jack doesnt really matter? Since its digital I guess it wouldnt right? I think Ill make a DIY cable with a few wires first and see if it carries the digital stream correctly before I buy a pro made one.

One black ring indicates mono, two would be stereo (tip-ring-sleeve) and I have never seen one with three as you mentioned in the first post. The digital data is a serial bitstream so a mono 1/8" plug is all you need.

Here's an easy solution..... have a local radioshack nearby? have an old rca cable laying around? you're in luck! Run to ratshack, find the phone--- 1/8" plug for 4 bucks, stick it on one end of the rca cable, 1/8" go into Audigy 2 ZS, other into receiver's coax input..... voila!!!

I am also running this for my computer with an Audigy 2 ZS btw. works great.

I am doing the same, with my 2ZS. With the combo from Radio shack. I use mine to listen to internet radio out by the pool zone 2, so it can't be digital. If that is the case for you, you will need an rca splitter also.

Hey I am the same camp as you. First off you need to use your receiver's multi-channel in- I seriosuly advise you to try the new creative x-fi elite pro- as it has a higher quality dac and is atleast 20x more powerful than the audigy. I think the onkyo has only 6 multi-channel inputs, so don't bother with the 3 ring thing. Just use 3 stereo to Rca interconnects for 5.1http://www.impactacoustics.com/product.asp?cat%5Fid=812&sku=40615

Get 3 of these and your fine, these are 12 feet ones, so maybe you need more feet or less feet. Note that you can find impact acoustics cables for less by searching on the internet for a brand called "cables to go", using pricegrabber or froogle. If you really want 7.1 you'll have to get a new receiver or an amplifer or something.
Note: I almost made the same mistake by purchasing an onkyo receiver but I returned it, turns out I wouldn't be able to use the full 7.1 speakers.
