I am redoing a great room in my house. It will be a 2ndary room to watch TV. ( This means it will be where my wife and I watch TV as the kids have taken over the basement theatre)
I am having it wired for 7.1, have a Yamaha 661 for the reciever, paradigms in cielings for the speakers. I have doe my plasma vs LCD research and am going to opt for LCD. I have narrowed it down to Samsungs or Sony LCDS.
46"/ 1080p.
Any one have any reccommendations?
Thanks

I just bought the Samsung 40" 1080p LCD. I liked the picture and the black border better than the Sony in a side-by-side comparison at the store.

Samsung makes Sony's LCD panels, so video wise they are pretty much identical. The only difference is features and appearance.

From what I understand, the panels are made by Sony and Samsung (joint venture). As we all know, when it comes to LCD televisions, the panel is a piece of a much larger puzzle. But you know what? Nowadays, it's not enough to compare one manufacturer to another (when it comes to LCDs). Sony/Samsung/Panasonic/Toshiba/LG-Phillips/JVC are all reputable manufacturers. You have to go one step further and examine specific models. Having said that, I'm a big fan of Sony's XBR4 series :) .
