Once again Sony is being taken to task for alleged patent infringement. This time it is for the highly touted cell processor used in the PS3. Parallel Processing Corporation (PPC) filed the suit last week at the US District Court in Tyler Texas for infringement of a 1991 patent Synchronized Parallel Processing with Shared Memory, technology that allows program execution to be broken into separate tasks, allowing parallel execution on multiple processor thereby speeding overall program execution.
