Recently, I decided that it was time to upgrade my audio system from a few pieced-together sets of cheap Logitech sound systems. As a college student, I have a very very tight budget (ok, I'm broke), and not a ton of money to make upgrades.
I was figuring $200 dollars, which, based on what research I have made, is a near impossible budget to create a system with new parts, or even good quality used parts. Either way, whatever I come up with is probably better than the $60 my current setup was invented with.
Anyways, in trying to find the best I can find for the cheapest, I'm looking in a lot of thrift and second-hand stores to find parts. Today, I found a pair of fairly good looking, new(ish) speakers at a thrift store. When I was doing my on-the-spot research, I could only find some manuals online under the parts number, and those I couldn't open on my phone. They are Sony SS-H2750s, picked up for $10.
Now that I'm home, and I can read those manuals, I've found that they're part of a CD/tape player, model MCH-2750. I remember seeing the CD and tape player components there, but I wasn't looking for CD or tape players, so I didn't really make the connection. But now I'm starting to worry that these weren't exactly the deal I thought they were..
So my question is this: Are these going to work for what I need? Or am I better off trying to sell them on eBay and make a profit or just break even/ taking a $10 hit?
All I got were the speakers, no cables or anything. I still need to find a receiver and all the other elements besides a record player (have one already, partly the impetus behind the upgrade), and my computer.
Thanks
