sony for sacd,dvda

hi, could someone let me know what kind of amp i need for these formats. i currently have a sony strdb930 reciever and would like to know if i have to update or not. thanks......

Just add player.

The Sony STRDB930 has 5.1CH inputs so you do not need to upgrade your receiver in order to move into the SACD, DVD-A world. You will, however, need a player that is capable of playing SACD and DVD-A in order to get the signal to the receiver via the 5.1 inputs. It you want DVD-A you’ll have to look outside the Sony family of players because none of their players support this format. Consult page 11 of your STRDB930’s owners manual for instructions concerning the use of your 5.1 inputs.

thanks very much for your reply. i have the sony only as the pre for the fronts running into a rotel rb981 and the sony runs the surrounds. dvd player is dvs657 yamaha all running into jamo e8 surround package.
