Went to use the youtube app briefly on my Sony BDP-S5100 and it starts to load and blanks out the screen and then the video apps disappeared. There was an important notice that didn't do anything when I tried to get it, tho. I ended up doing a full reset and then the notice came up saying as of Sept 16 2025 we no longer support internet/browser access on this player. Pretty sure that's not in my manual.

Get an HTPC those are the best Internet browsers. I use my HTPCs and DAW for all Internet browsing except for the BPO Atmos not supported by microsoft.

It was just convenience, wasn't using the video apps on it much, but was about to play a disc and thought of a youtube video I wanted to check on for something I was going to do in the workshop (where this system was....it was just easier at the moment to use the discplayer since I was already on that input/source anyways. I did check the manual, too....nothing about expiration. Just didn't expect Sony to need to do this. I have a Firestick on this system, htpc/daw definite overkill for my use..
