Well I can't speak about the sub issues, but the speakers are all relatively similar. The larger sub on the SVS should help it out but I don't know if you won't strain some of those speakers to fill that large of a space. Knowing my Axioms they should be OK, but perhaps you can get a different sub to go with the Axioms?

If you can spring it, I'd go with the Ascend's based on a lot of good reviews, but I do think you'd be happy with any of the systems. I will say, that the X-CS system is bigger than the others (its a MTM). The other thing you could do is go for five X-LS monitors instead of the X-CS system.

Please report back on how you like what you choose.:)

One last word

all the above mentioned systems will make you happy!! Then again, the svs sbs-01 for @ $1149.00 has a 12" sub that will out perform the other systems with 10" subs & cost less money.;)

audition the svs floors

. I myself can't wait for the holidays to be done and gone. I'm looking to revamp my system and waiting to audition the svs floors when they are released in 07, along side a new sub. :)

Yep; I bet the SVS floors would be perfect for my room. My guess is once the wife hears the set up; she will be so impressed that she will let me upgrade at a later time. She is kind-of like that.

Got quote for painting the Ascends

Got quote for painting the Ascends. They will do it at the factory. Good news is that it is very custom and they can match any color. Bad news is that it costs $250/pair, so that brings me to around $2000 with shipping. Plus it is $40 per speaker for white covers.

I am wondering how hard it would be to paint them myself, and if that is a good/bad idea. Will start researching.

You really shouldn't go there.:)

Get the Onyx speakers in the white finish... or something. I don't think you want to be dealing with painting them.
