An Update.

I went and listened to PSB and Maggies today. All I can say is that the Mirage Omni's are out now. Don't get me wrong, the Mirage sound good, but just not as detailed and smooth as the PSB's and Maggies. The Maggies are incredibly detailed and they're so power hungry, but do sound good. I think PSB sounded the best all around to me. Awesome midrange, good in the lows and not harsh in the highs. They also seemed to handle power quite well. The only other speaker I may check out are the av123 as they should be similar to the PSB's.

If you really liked the PSB's then check out the Energy RC's. I demoed them against the PSB Image line and found the RC's a better balanced speaker overall.:)

I listened to the simple Alpha series. The dealer also carried Energy's which I gave a listen, but they sounded a bit thinner to me. So now it's between the Maggie MMG's or the PSB Alpha's. Decisions, decisions...

Not a problem:D. Since your looking at the Alpha's you should really consider stepping up to the Image series, if your budget will allow it? As with the case from the Energy C's, the next step up to the RC's is considerable.

Good luck, Billy p:)

I double that. I dunno Billy and I must be energy fan boys lol!

The step from c to RC is like going from first class to your own private jet.

To me the RC is what got me into that full range high end sound with all the dynamic sound I could ever want but remained versitile. I had an issue with planar/ribbon speakers, which are some of the best sounding I have ever heard. And of course b & W 800's rock the house, but the RC's got me to the level where I could "hear the old songs new again". It also has the low end power to make movies fun when they grunt. I will say this, you may have a bugger powering them as I did but I made some newb mistakes and it's nothing a nice cheep powerfull amp can't fix. I call it a win in the end as I learned allot and the RC 50's I have are so dynamic, and I have a huge problem with bright speakers. I fatigue fast with to much power being cut to the tweeters.
