I'm sure the another "help me choose!" Posts is not exactly what everyone wants to see, but I would love some input from the audio gurus out there!

I'm building up a little 2 channel set up for my significant other for christmas (she's rocking the ihome at the moment) and I need help choosing some great sounding bookshelf speakers. I stumbled upon a pristine Kenwood KR-7600 earlier today which I snagged, and that will be the powerhouse I'll be using to power said speakers. Under $300 would be great, but I want them to really make the music come alive, you know? I have an old Marantz 2220b hooked up to KEF iq30's that have done that for me and I'd love to build her a set up that will do the same for her. :)

Also, speakers will have to be new in box, unfortunately, so craigslist isnt much of an option.

Open to any suggestions!

2 suggestions:
1) Mouse over PRODUCT REVIEWS above, and click on Bookshelf speakers.
2) Mouse over AV RESEARCH above, and click on Recommended Systems.

You can define your "short list" from there, then come back here if you have specific questions or concerns. It is the fastest way, since your time for a Christmas present is limited. :) And likely anything you pick from suggestions on these links will be good.

If you have some creative skills... you really wont do better then those, and you get the added benefit of hand crafting a christmas gift for her.
add one of these,

these,

and these,

and you have a custom built 2.1 bluetooth solution that will likely blow anything else under 300 dollars away...
but you may have to get your hands dirty
