Yes, that's what I meant--I would access the NAS drive which is plugged into my router. The question is how would I interface with my library (say, iTunes) if I'm accessing it off a network drive?
set up the NAS as a DLNA server, access it with a DLNA client (receiver, Oppo, etc. ). I believe an apple TV or airport express can also find the music on a NAS, Sonos can as well.

So then will I be able to page through my library by using remote app on iTouch / iPhone or some similar interface?

Well it depends on what you use. If using a DLNA server to an Oppo for example, there is no ipad or iphone app. Sonos and Squeezebox do have apps.
