Sold them today for $180. Bought 'em a year or so ago for $100 so I did ok. Great bass for a bookshelf. Clear as a bell high end, but they were absolute murder on my ears. So no thanks. The guy drove 200 miles round trip for them.

Nice profit wow those look very old from 84? I could barely find any information googling them. I’m surprised someone would drive that far!!! Hours away.

How did they affect your ears, felt like they were stuffed with wool after listening, fatigued? It would have been interesting to see the frequency response- when I have felt that kind of irritation, it was sometimes from a driver being disconnected and reconnected with reverse polarity, sometimes from a bad crossover component drifting and causing excessive overlap.

Just fatigueing. I can listen to any other set of speakers that I have at the same volume and they are great. Those ADS's are immediately just too harsh for me. I don't begrudge anyone who likes them. The buyer does, as he has multiple ADS sets.

Do you have a photo of them? They do have a fairly strong upper range, so that may be the cause.

You are right about that. Hi-Fi Sound used to be a dealer for them. I thought the whole range was awful and were well in my avoid category. I have heard very, very few commercial speakers I could live with to be honest. I think there are way more bad speakers about than good ones.

I'm happy you gave my Kef set-up a thumbs-up!
