HDMI 1.3 is for passing the lossless signal undecoded. While 1.1 or 1.2 will pass the signal already decoded via PCM, be it 6 channel analoge or HDMI. 1.3will only be useful for audio when there are rec. capable of decoding the lossless formats, ie. DolbyTrueHD or DTS-HD-MA.

Only IF the software allows the player to output the raw bitstream, and with discs authored with Advanced Content they don't. See my post's above.
