I just had to ask my wife what kind of beer I was drinking "down under" and she said it was "VB and XXXX" It wasn't great that is for sure. When I went to Australia years ago, hung out with some surfer girls, and didn't want to come home, easy to turn into a beach bum down there... Then years later went back with my wife and she found a bunch of hiking to do, so much less drinking and much more working that time, I couldn't wait to come home, lol...
yeah VB and XXXX gold are yuck, next time you're down try carlton dry, or carlton draught

No offence but everything down there was "yuck" lol, It is gorgeous down there, the women and people in general are for the most part nice and inviting, BUT the food and drink are not on my list of favorites. I have had pasta and pizza in Italy {greece does it better IMO, my wife dissagrees}, croissants in france, fried rice in Thailand, seafood dumplings in Hong Kong, tacos and fajitas in Mexico {don't eat off the resorts, you will die}, and fish and chips in England, I have to say the US has the best food all over the world and australia was the worst, lol... I don't know what it is but even the hot dogs where terrible, I couldn't find anything to eat {besides of course the italian and american foods that are there, I ate chicken parmigan every night}... Although there were these chocolate and coconut covered cake balls that were really good, everything else I tried was horrid...

I even tried asking some of the "locals" whats good to eat and nothing came from it one guy told me to try Emu and some kind of grub {insect}, I was like "WHAT?, where is there a burger king"... Although the Women are beautiful {granted a lot of the ones I met were from california and there for the surf) still great people, nice water, and beautiful landscapes, but bad food and drink.... {except for the wine, but I'm not a wine guy, my wife loved the wines and shes a vegetarian so she liked the foods.......}

Running shoes, (I don't run ?), Walking / crosstraining (I do that !), some deerskin slippers from amish country really soft, two pants (Levis), sweater, button down, Apple TV which I neither asked for or even mentioned before but it looks like an interesting device which I will play around with for some time,Superman bluray, and of course something I did ask for , I got an Oppo player, albeit used from a family friend, he upgraded to the top tier on that one so my wife bought his original for me, no surprise though as I put it out there and she simply connected the dots, but I love it and can not wait to hook it up. I didnt ask for scotch because, well I dont like it lol.

Merry Christmas and truly a Happy Holiday Wish for each and everyone of you guys, sawz.

That doesn't have anything to do with it, I'm just saying its better :D
That is the plain and simple truth, I have traveled to many Eastern European Countries, far south American , Mexico , Belize , and so on. I never really enjoyed the foods native to any of those foreign places, always felt hungry and could not wait to get home and eat right again. The seafood in Belize was very good and the traditional food in Lithuania was good and filling but too many others to mention that just lacked taste.

Sawz I hear that all the time, we have friends that moved here from the Orleans area {france, kind of outside Paris}, and they were shocked that our food was so good, you have all of these different cultures mixed together and add to that our ingredients and "good" water, our food is good... I can't say the entire country but most of it {exception I found- Florida I'm not sure if its the water, heat, bugs, or what but I hate eating there}, but when we go to tennessee there is a steak house that is amazing, maine has great seafood, new york has good everything {chinese food is really good, italian is good, and my favorite is an irish place called kennedy's in the city}, Texas and cali are a toss up for mexican food, and Oregon had the best beer and grilled chz I ever had... I have been to a lot of countries and a lot of states, eating is one of the things you do where ever you go, and a lot of it....

Sawz, sounds like you had a pretty good Christmas! Congrats on the Oppo and the other gifts. You have me wondering if the running shoes were on sale, or if someone is trying to tell you something. :D

I go through the cross training / walking shoes quickly they just wear out so fast so I believe the little lady thought the running shoes were in the same form factor so she bought those along with the other pair but they are so light weight I believe I could wear them down and out in a month or so, they are really neat looking. I will still wear them to the store and such.
If I were to say this and not sound too sappy but it is the truth, any and all gifts given and received could not compare to the time spent with my Family yesterday, great food , laughs , love . happiness and just an overall excellent time by everyone, I love the Christmas Holiday more than any other just such Happy memories.

I ended up getting money from everyone, I already have some money but maybe you can have extra?

I guess it was a nice gesture since they all know my job ends in a few days but if it gets so bad that we are living on Christmas money, then we are in a lot trouble.

I wasn't supposed to get Carolyn anything but I ended up hiring the guy that did our cabinets to do a dining room table for her. She has been dropping hints about that for 4 years now...

Did she like it?

You know, you could have really surprised her and gotten a kitchen faucet. (J/K, Alex. :D)

Thats too bad, so how do you test that? maybe wire it as a center channel with no l and r and get an idea of how it sounds... Thats like trying to test out one sneaker...

Yeah, it's an odd choice. We can't select the same item twice, so there was no way to get more than one of that selection. It's not uncommon to send a single sample of food items (like a single snack bar or juice box), but a single speaker that's meant to be used in a pair is odd. Oh, well. I'll try to think of a good way to audition and review it. Maybe I'll do a video review with this playing on the lone speaker... :)

The same reason we think people from New Zealand ride sheep. :)
(Is ride the correct word here ... )

ride is the wrong work its F#(%, they all F#(% sheep, thats why they wear them over sized water boots, they put the sheep's rear legs in the boots so they can't run away...
You F#(% one sheep and you are "Louie the Sheep F#(%er", doesn't matter if you built a hundred houses, you will never be "Louie the house builder" after you f#(% that one single sheep...
