I love it so far. White was not my first choice, but I let some pretty good deals slip away due to indecision. Not this time.

Vintage fofo is still in the driveway. It's the GF's old car. Now a teenage beater car.
So that's the g/f's new car. :D

That Mazda has some big shoes to fill but what year fofo and which motor?

My nephew just sold his Speed3 but it wasn't because he didn't like the car. He got tired of a new car payment on a car with 55k miles that was a few years old. It was the economics of it that prompted the sale. I think he should have kept it but that's because I'm tired of working on cars. New is nice.

Congrats Nomo.

I've had the 2010 Mazda 3 Sport for the past 2.5 years. Mine is grey 6 speed manual. Overall I've been happy with the car. It is NOT that good on gas. I've only averaged 27 over 39000 miles and I do not live in the city. I don't really push the car because it mileage drops off dramatically if you really drive it. The only other negative is the interior scratches really easily and the silver finish accents wear off with the lightest rub. I bought mine new and for the money I don't think I'll buy another one.

My first new car purchase was a 2011 'Speed3 back in September of last year. I agree that the Bose factory audio system is pretty good if a little lean in the bass department. To expand on the sentiments regarding interior quality, that is the only part of the car I'm unhappy with. There are rattles from numerous hard plastics that just about drive me insane when the weather is cold, and are less prevalent but still present during the summer.

It's quite intriguing to consider that mine was built in a city that only 67 years ago was leveled in the first wartime use of nuclear weapons.

If you can hear the rattles, then the stereo isn't loud enough. :D

J/K! I have some rattles in my Fusion that annoy me greatly. It rattled when I drove it off the lot, but they can't ever hear them when I bring it in for service. I feel like remarking, "you have to move the car to hear them," but I don't like the idea of ticking off someone who's working under the hood. :)

Congrats! I just sold my Mazda 3 that I had for over 6 years and the car was great. Outside of regular maintenance not a single issue in 6 years.

Ironically, I test drove a white hatchback just like yours (2.5S) as well as a Speed3, but decided to go in a different direction. That Bose subwoofer in the spare tire is good use of space :) I actually really dig the white color.. I have owned darker colors the last few cars and they are harder to keep clean..

Enjoy and watch out for tickets :)

Tell me about it. My payment is low, but I've put enough in repairs on this car (currently 110K mi) that I could have bought another one of my other car. The other car (also a Suby, but normally aspirated) has had to have a number of age related repairs too, but it has no payments. I drove the MS3 before I bought my WRX because I was pretty set on buying one. Power and handling was awesome on that car, but it was still FWD. One drive in the WRX and I was sold. AWD isn't quite as fun as RWD, but it is pretty close :)

Yes, he should have kept it, but all turbos will require more work than a N/A car, and yes, gas is a potential hole in your pocket. "You know you drive a turbo when you spend more in a week on gas than food." I get ~27-28mpg on the freeway, except that I am only on the freeway on the weekends :( In traffic in town: ~18mpg

Not a big fan of white because I've owned a white car before, but I've also owned black cars. White cars are easier to keep clean than black because black shows every spec of dirt :) I really do like all variants of the 3 and was pretty impressed with the MS3's handling in stock form.

Congrats Nomo... :) Is it a standard? ;)
If it were only me driving it I would have got a standard. But, while the gf can drive a stick, she doesn't like to. Part of the reason I got a hatchback was to use it as a dog hauler, Which means she needs to drive it as well.

If the Speed3's were not so expensive I would have taken one of those in a heartbeat. Automatic transmission be damned.

The dealers here were not willing to budge at all on the new SkyActive models. And the prices for the features I wanted were over my budget.

My '96 Ford Ranger was manual, had a cassette deck, no AC, and power nothing. This is quite the step up for me. I'm still tying to figure out how everything works on this thing without running some one over.

And yeah, gas milage is not so great. I knew that going in. But so far with the fair percentage of city driving I've done I'm still averaging just below the 29 mpg estimate.

But it is kinda fun to watch the mpg read-out drop to 7 when I put my foot into it. :D
